The pension is a timbered building from a bygone Sweden with a spacious rural style kitchen.
Originally it served as a home for the elderly like those which appear in Astrid Lindgren's

Now Rokulla is renovated with care to preserve it's traditional turn-of-the-Century atmosphere.
Ten guestrooms share 4 newly installed shower rooms and 5 WC:s.

The difference in price between a one day's and a two days' visit at Astrid Lindgren's World is but slight.
Some of the performances are running at the same time and thus cannot be experienced in just one day.
Hence, many guests at Rokulla might wish to stay another night.
However, last minutes bookings are hard for us to grant as Rokulla usually is fully booked during the season.
Choosing to book two nights from the start gives you enough time to enjoy other attractions of the area.
In two days you can visit Astrid Lindgren's World twice as well as Katthult, Bullerbyn,
the old Candy workshop, the Elk Park, the thousand years old hollow oak.
Or you can go fishing and swimming in one of the hidden forest lakes in the nearby.
The large group of peoples represents some of the well known personalities of the region.
The photo is said to show the 80 years anniversary party of the legendary
"Sara of the Woods" (the lady in the middle).
Rokulla supports handycraft artists of the Mombaza coast in East Africa.
The turtle is an emblem of good luck and so is Sungura, the sly hare.
Mr. Kabaila at Watamu has carved Rokulla's wooden door number plates and the number tokens on the room keys.
